I’m Jessica (or Jess, but never Jessie!), an almost-but-not-quite thirty something with a great affinity for learning, reading, eating, filming stories for the gram with my very patient hubby, and making people feel great about themselves. I try to listen well, I remember obscure things, and I celebrate big!
I’m living a true modern romance: before he even proposed, my husband, Sean, offered to buy me from the government– Sean code for: I’ll help you pay off your student loans. Every indebted millennial’s dream!
When I have had two drinks, I will give you elevator pitches about how wonderful Lin Manuel Miranda, Hamilton: the American Musical, and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg are. I will also do this without the drinks– drinks just add gusto, and implicit exclamation marks.
I have all kinds of dreams– too many, really. If I were to spitball the three biggest ones, they would be: adopt all kinds of babies, make education more accessible and equitable in the U.S. and abroad, and write and publish a memoir or two. My hope is this little blog can be turned into a little book one day.
So, that’s where I’m at in life.
Thank you for meeting me here!
